Sailing, Sailing...

Ahh, what better way to spent an evening than on the water. For the 2nd week in a row we went out on Lake Minnetonka. We borrowed the Johnson's boat and went out with two couples from our small group. It was a beautiful evening, great company and a little escape from the daily grind.

On Saturday I planned a Johnson family outing. I can't remember the last time we spent the whole day together as a family, if ever! We started our morning getting some breakfast at Perkins and then headed up to Duluth. The maritime festival was going on this weekend and three tall ships sailed in. I knew Pete really wanted to see them, so it seemed like a great activity before the business of August got rolling.

We got up to Duluth around 10:30 and found out it would be a 4-6 hour wait to tour a boat, so we opted to just take our pictures from the dock and find other activities to keep us busy.

We had brought our bikes with just in case Duluth was busy, and boy was it ever! We biked down canal park just in time to see a huge barge go through and then headed down to the point.

Titus was such a good boy, we were worried about him missing his nap, but he found the bike ride soothing enough to get in a 2 hour nap.
He woke up to find himself at the beach! It was the first time we have been to a lake where he could wade in. He loved it and got the courage to get in to about his knees.
But as soon as he realized there were rocks to throw he was much more entertained by that.
All ready to go again! Books, snacks, drinks, what more could you want.
Pete loved showing Titus all the cars going over the bridge above them.
And finally a family shot of us.
